Booking & Usage

How much does a booking inquiry cost?

The booking inquiry is free of charge and costs 0 euros.

What are the requirements for booking with mo2drive?

You must send us a booking inquiry. Additionally, you must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driving license:

  • 50 cc: Driving license class AM or B
  • 125 cc: Driving license class B with Code 111 or A

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes. Prior to the start of the journey, the booking can be canceled or changed in accordance with the GTC. Any costs already incurred may be charged.

Is smoking allowed on the mo2drive scooter?

No. Smoking on or near the mo2drive scooter is not permitted. Additional cleaning or repair costs may be charged.

Am I allowed to take the mo2drive scooter abroad?

No. The use of mo2drive scooters is permitted exclusively in the Vienna area. Trips outside the agreed usage area require the prior consent of mo2drive. Trips abroad are not permitted.

Where can I rent and return mo2drive scooters?

Daily rentals are possible in 1100 Vienna (Hotel Andaz, Arsenalstraße 10). Monthly rentals in 1160 Vienna (Stillfriedplatz 1). Weekly and monthly rentals also in 2331 Vösendorf (Fritz-Schmerold-Gasse 14). Upon request, delivery or collection within Vienna is possible for a fee.

How many kilometers are included in the rental price?

Free kilometers are included for weekly and monthly rentals:

  • Weekly rental: 500 km
  • Monthly rental: 2,000 km

What is the range of mo2drive electric scooters?

The range of our electric scooters depends on the model, driving style, payload, temperature, and route profile. Guideline values for city operation in Vienna:

  • 50 cc (Torrot Muvi City): approx. 60–90 km per battery charge
  • 125 cc (Torrot Muvi Executive): approx. 80–120 km per battery charge The batteries are removable and can be charged at a standard household electrical outlet. Note: Stated ranges are guidelines and do not represent a guaranteed characteristic.

Does mo2drive rent scooters for delivery services (e.g., Lieferando, Foodora)?

No. The use of mo2drive scooters for industrial or commercial purposes is not permitted and can lead to additional costs or contractual penalties according to the GTC.

Driving License

May I operate a mo2drive scooter if I forget my driving license?

No. The driving license must always be carried in the original during the journey.

What are the requirements regarding the driving license?

You must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driving license:

  • 50 cc: Driving license class AM or B
  • 125 cc: Driving license class B with Code 111 or A

Does mo2drive also offer "license-free" scooters?

No. For all mo2drive scooters, at least a class AM driving license is required.

Driving & Usage

May another person drive the rented mo2drive scooter?

No. The mo2drive scooter may be operated exclusively by you as the renter.

Am I allowed to take a passenger on the mo2drive scooter?

Only if the respective mo2drive scooter is approved for carrying a passenger.

Is there a maximum total weight for the mo2drive scooter?

Yes. The maximum total weight (driver incl. passenger) is 160 kg. Exceeding this is not permitted and can lead to damage to the vehicle as well as the loss of insurance coverage.

Where am I allowed to ride a mo2drive scooter?

Everywhere it is permitted according to the StVO (Traffic Regulations). Riding on bike paths, in pedestrian zones, or parks is not allowed.

Are bus lanes in Vienna accessible?

Some bus lanes are open to motorcycles. Please inform yourself about the currently valid regulations of the City of Vienna.

Is it allowed to ride mo2drive scooters on highways or expressways?

No. mo2drive scooters do not have a highway toll sticker and therefore may not be driven on highways or expressways.

Am I allowed to perform modifications or mount accessories (e.g., phone holder)?

No. Modifications or additions to the mo2drive scooter are not permitted.

Rental Duration & Return

What happens if I return the mo2drive scooter early?

An early return is possible at any time. An early return constitutes no claim for a refund.

What happens if I do not return the mo2drive scooter at the agreed location?

Deviating return locations can cause additional costs according to the GTC and price list.

How must I return the mo2drive scooter?

The mo2drive scooter must be returned properly and completely:

  • Vespa: Fully refueled
  • Electric scooter: With at least 25% battery charge
  • Accessories complete, especially the helmet, registration certificate, and first-aid kit
  • For electric scooters, additionally the batteries and charger
  • Clean, parked on the main stand, and on a permitted parking area according to the StVO

What happens in the event of a late return?

In the event of a late return, additional costs according to the price list or GTC may be charged.

Parking

What should I consider when parking the mo2drive scooter?

The mo2drive scooter is to be parked in accordance with the StVO in a public parking space without obstructing others. Parking is not permitted in:

  • Loading zones
  • Resident or local resident parking zones
  • Private driveways
  • Private property
  • On pavements

Can I park the mo2drive scooter in a Vienna short-term parking zone?

Yes. Single-track vehicles may park free of charge in short-term parking zones in Vienna. A parking ticket is not required.

Can I park the mo2drive scooter in a Vienna resident zone?

No. Parking mo2drive scooters in resident or local resident parking zones is not permitted.

Who bears administrative fines or towing costs?

All administrative fines, on-the-spot fines, or towing costs occurring during the rental period are to be borne by the renter.

Refueling & Charging

How do I refuel a Vespa?

  • Switch off the Vespa
  • Park the Vespa on the main stand
  • Refuel exclusively with Super 95
  • ⚠️ Warning: Incorrect refueling can lead to serious engine damage. Damage caused by misfueling is not insured and will be charged to the renter.

How do I charge the electric scooter?

  • Batteries are removable
  • Charge with the original charger
  • Connect to a standard electrical outlet
  • Charging time approx. 6 hours
  • ⚠️ Warning: Use only the original charger. Do not charge damaged or overheated batteries. Improper charging is not insured.

Am I allowed to charge the battery unattended (e.g., overnight)?

Charging is done at your own responsibility.

How long does it take to charge the battery?

The charging time is approx. 5–6 hours depending on the battery level and model.

What happens if the battery runs out during the journey?

Please contact mo2drive. Towing costs can be charged to the renter.

Helmet

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes. In Austria, there is a legal requirement to wear a helmet.

How hygienic and safe are the helmets?

The helmets are regularly cleaned and disinfected and possess a valid ECE approval seal. Available in S, L, and XL.

Maintenance

How are the mo2drive scooters maintained?

All mo2drive scooters are regularly maintained according to manufacturer specifications and repaired as needed.

Insurance, Damage & Legal

How are mo2drive scooters insured?

All mo2drive scooters are covered by liability insurance. The liability insurance is included in the rental price.

Is there a deposit or a deductible?

There is no cash deposit. In the event of damage, a contractually regulated deductible applies.

Is there a fully comprehensive (Vollkasko) option?

Yes, optional:

  • Full coverage €30: Deductible €600
  • Full coverage €60: Deductible €300

What should I do in case of damage or an accident?

Inform mo2drive immediately and notify the police. Damage mitigation and preservation of evidence are mandatory.

What should be noted regarding pre-existing damage?

Report pre-existing damage before starting the journey. Unreported damage is considered to have occurred during the rental period.

What do I do in the event of a breakdown without an accident?

Contact mo2drive immediately. Unauthorized repairs are not permitted.

What happens in case of gross negligence or alcohol/drug consumption?

Insurance coverage is void. The damage is to be borne entirely by the renter.

What happens in case of loss or theft of accessories (e.g., helmet)?

The loss or theft of accessories is attributable to the renter and will be charged according to the price list.

Who is liable for traffic violations during the rental?

The renter is liable for all traffic violations during the rental period.

Who is liable in case of theft of the mo2drive scooter?

The renter is liable up to the amount of the agreed deductible, provided no grossly negligent behavior is present.
