What do I have to do as a SCO2T customer to use the new service?

Actually, nothing. The new service with all its advantages is now available for you. The new vehicles and the new business area are displayed in all SCO2T apps. If you want, you can upgrade to the new mo2drive app, which offers improved usability and a new design. Please note that with the introduction of the new offer our general terms and conditions, data protection regulations and price list have changed – we have already informed you about this separately by e-mail. Existing SCO2T credits remain.

What do I have to do as a mo2drive customer to use the new service?

Please download the new mo2drive app or call up the web app. When you first register, you will be asked to agree to the transfer of your data to Transport Service Solutions GmbH, the new operator of mo2drive, and to accept the new data protection regulations.The previous mo2drive app is no longer supported. Existing mo2drive credit balances remain unchanged. If you have an account with both services, you should use the SCO2T account, as a transfer is not necessary and does not work. The SCO2T account also works on mo2drive.com! There’s no extra cost to you.

How much does the registration cost?

All tariffs and the services contained therein can be found in the current price list

Where can I register?

You can log in directly via mo2drive Mobile app or mo2drive Web app from your smartphone or PC via an Internet browser.

What are the requirements for registration?

You must be at least 18 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least one year. You need a category B, AM, A1, A2 or A driving licence to drive a 50cc scooter or electric scooter in category AM, or a category A1, A2, A or category B driving licence with the registered code 111 to drive a 125cc scooter.

How can I register?

Registration with mo2drive is uncomplicated. All you need is…

  1. a minimum age of 18 years,
  2. your personal data,
  3. a valid e-mail address,
  4. a mobile number,
  5. a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or a current account,
  6. a valid driving licence (category B, AM, A, A1 or A2) for at least one year (or an ARBÖ membership) issued in the EU / EEA / Switzerland / Norway or Liechtenstein. If your driving licence was not issued in the EU, you will need an international driving licence. You can get it at your local automobile club – or in Vienna at the ARBÖ,
  7. a PC or smartphone.

Can I change my email address, which is also my login ID?

Yes. You can change your email address in the log-in details. The new e-mail address will be used for communication between mo2drive and you.

How do I get the mo2drive Mobile app?

The mo2drive mobile app will soon be available for download for iOS smartphones in the Apple Store, for Android smartphones in the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can use the web app directly via your Internet browser.

Which smartphone do I need to use mo2drive?

Your smartphone must be connected to the Internet to use mo2drive, not only to rent and start a car, but also to end a journey. Make sure that the battery is sufficiently charged! The mo2drive Mobile app currently runs on the following operating systems:

  • Android: Version 4.0 or higher
  • iOS: Version 9 or higher

The web app also runs on many older devices (Windows Phone, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, …), without any app installation.

Driving Licence

How can I have my driver's license checked?

Your driving license will be checked as part of your registration. It is not necessary to present your driver’s license in person at an authentication point.

How does the driver's license check via the app work in detail?

The driver’s license check step by step:

  • Photograph both sides of your license and take a picture of yourself with your smartphone.
  • Upload everything during registration.
  • After our team has checked and approved your order, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

Can I drive a mo2drive vehicle if I forget my driver's license?

If you do not have your driver’s license with you, you may not use a mo2drive vehicle, even if you actually hold a driver’s license. Driving without a driving licence is a traffic violation and is punished by the police. It is therefore necessary to carry your original driving licence with you at all times.

How to use 50ccm and 125ccm scooters step by step

How do I start a scooter after I have rented the vehicle via the app?

  1. The optional reservation is made via the mo2drive Mobile App or mo2drive Web App.
  2. As soon as you are standing in front of your reserved scooter, click on “Start rental”.
  3. Enter your optional PIN code to confirm the rental start and click OK. (You can deactivate the use of this security function in the customer area).
  4. The push button at the front of the scooter will turn green after a few seconds. By pressing the push button you can open the seat.
  5. Remove the helmet and adjust the chinstrap to the correct length. Put on the helmet and lock the clasp.
  6. Leave the scooter on the main stand.
  7. Pull both brake levers, keep them pulled and simultaneously press the engine start button on the right side of the handlebar for 2-3 seconds.
  8. With the electric scooters you need to press the start button only briefly (max. 1 second). The scooter changes thereby from the park into the driving mode, no (!) engine or start noise is to be heard!
  9. If the engine does not start immediately on petrol-powered scooters, wait 10 seconds, turn the throttle 3 to 4 times and start again.
  10. Push the scooter off the main stand. Now you can go.

What do I have to consider when starting?

  1. Sit up and adjust rear view mirror.
  2. Turn the indicator.
  3. Watch the traffic. When the road is clear, slowly turn the throttle grip (right) downwards and drive off.
  4. Switch off the indicators.

How can I speed up and slow down a scooter?

  1. The driving speed is adjusted by accelerating and reducing the throttle.
  2. The throttle grip is on the right side. Throttle is applied by turning the throttle handle downwards (counter-clockwise).
  3. The throttle is reduced by turning the throttle handle upwards (clockwise) and, if necessary, applying the brake.

How do I place the scooter on the main stand?

  1. Use your left hand to operate the handbrake lever and your right hand to pull the handlebar upwards at the rear end of the seat. At the same time, press the outrigger of the main stand on the left side of the vehicle down with your foot.
  2. Both legs of the main stand must stand securely on the ground.

How do I brake the scooter?

  1. Close the throttle grip completely (turn the throttle grip upwards).
  2. Simultaneously apply the front and rear brakes (the two silver levers on the handlebar head) with gradually increasing force.

Always observe when braking:

  • Avoid sudden and hard braking.
  • Tram and railway tracks as well as manhole covers and metal plates on construction sites are very smooth in wet weather. You must therefore reduce the speed before approaching such an area and cross it carefully.
  • In rain and wet conditions, be prepared for more difficult brake handling and expect a longer braking distance. The brakes should be applied slowly when stopping on a wet surface.

How do I switch off the engine?

  1. Press the green illuminated push button for approx. 2 seconds to interrupt the ignition.
  2. Place the scooter on the main stand.
  3. Press the green illuminated push button to open the helmet compartment under the seat.
  4. Put the helmet back in the helmet compartment.
  5. Close the seat (press down firmly).
  6. Select “Park” or “End trip” in the app.

How do I operate the indicator?

  1. The turn signal is on the left side.
  2. Turn the indicator by sliding the switch to the left or right, depending on the intended direction of travel.
  3. A green light flashes in the cockpit.
  4. After turning, turn off the indicator by pressing the center of the switch. The green light goes out.

How do I switch on the high beam?

  1. On the left side is the switch for the high beam.
  2. The high beam is switched on by sliding the switch to the left and off by sliding the switch to the right.
  3. In the cockpit, the high beam symbol lights up blue as long as the high beam is on.

Do I need my smartphone while driving?

Once rented and started, you don’t need your smartphone to operate and control the scooter. You’ll need your smartphone back to park, refuel, or finish your journey.

How to use electric scooter step by step

Start rental

With your username / password you log into the mo2drive web app.Use the map to select the desired mo2drive scooter. In the field that appears, you can see the fuel level and the exact position. Once there, click on ‘Start rental’, confirm the terms and conditions and enter your optional PIN. This starts your rent.

Prepare

Within a few seconds the mo2drive scooter is unlocked for you and the button on the left under the handlebar lights up green. Press the button to open the seat (by lifting it from behind). Inside you will find a helmet, disposable hoods and the key for the topcase. In the topcase you will find a second helmet (in size S – the helmet in the seat compartment has size L).

Start and drive off

Important: For safety reasons, the mo2drive scooter must not stand on the side stand when starting: So either stand on the main stand or fold down both stands. To start, keep both brake levers pulled and simultaneously press the engine start button with your right thumb (2-3 seconds) until the scooter starts.

Parking

During your rental you can park the mo2drive scooter throughout Vienna at our cheap parking rate. Please put the mo2drive scooter down – please on the main stand and not on the side stand (better stability on the main stand!) – switch off the engine and put the helmet and key back into the seat. By clicking on ‘Parking’ (in the mo2drive app or Web app), the mo2drive scooter is deactivated (the green light around the button goes out). When you come back, just click on ‘Finish parking’ and the mo2drive scooter will be unlocked again, similar to the rental start.

End rent

To finish your rental, please park the mo2drive scooter properly, turn off the engine and put the helmet and key back into the seat (and lock it afterwards) before clicking ‘Finish rental’ (in the app). (Please also make sure that you do not leave any personal belongings in the seat or topcase.) Then please confirm that no damage or problems have occurred during the journey. If there have been problems (e.g. a dirty helmet), tell us about them via the button ‘Report damage or problems’. (After that you can end the rent by stating ‘no new damage’.) For more serious damage, falls, accidents and the like, please always contact our hotline directly.

Mobile phone holder / charger plug

Would you like to use your mobile phone as a navigation device while driving? No problem. No problem. Some of our mo2drive scooters are equipped with a mobile phone holder. The mobile phone holder is mounted on the right rear view mirror. The holder fits most mobile phones / smartphones of the current design – only very large or small devices can occasionally cause problems. To adjust the size please press the button at the bottom left of the holder (see photos).

Even if the mobile phone holder provides a double protection against possible falling out, we cannot assume any liability for damaged mobile phones. And to make sure you don’t run out of battery power while driving – important because you need the phone to finish your rental- some of our mo2drive scooters are also equipped with a USB charging plug. You will find it on the right under the handlebar (and under the mobile phone holder). With this you can charge your mobile phone – e.g. if it is in the mobile phone holder above – while driving – or also other devices that are important to you at the moment (e.g. Bluetooth headset, camera, Smartwatch).

When you have finished charging, please replace the protective cap on the plug – it should ensure that everything remains 100% waterproof.

Reserving, renting and driving

How can I reserve a mo2drive scooter?

You can make a reservation for a vehicle currently marked as “free” in the mo2drive Mobile app or mo2drive Web app by selecting “Reserve” on the corresponding scooter. A reservation made via the app lasts a maximum of 20 minutes. There are no costs for it. If you do not make use of the reservation, i.e. you do not start your journey with this scooter within these 20 minutes, mo2drive will release the scooter for use by other customers. The vehicle is again marked as “free” in the app.

What could be the reason why my booking failed?

Our app and the booking system work with only a few seconds of transmission time when there is no interference. Nevertheless, it can happen that two customers choose the same scooter almost at the same time. In this case, a mo2drive scooter that you have just selected as “free” for booking has landed with other customers in the next moment. Unfortunately, such overlaps cannot be completely ruled out, but they are usually rare.

How and where can I find the scooter I booked in the app?

After the reservation your reserved scooter will be highlighted (in red) in the app.

Do I always have to stand next to the scooter in order to operate "Start rental"?

Yes.

Can another person drive the scooter I have rented?

The vehicle rented by you may only be driven by yourself. Even a person who is a customer of mo2drive may not operate a scooter rented by you.

How long can I drive a mo2drive scooter?

As long as you want. Please note, however, that for monthly or seasonal rentals the fuel costs will not be refunded by mo2drive. The scooter must have the same fuel level at the end of the rental period as at the start of the rental period. Any difference will be charged to the customer.

Where can I drive a mo2drive scooter?

You may drive and park your rented scooter wherever driving and parking is permitted, including outside the mo2drive business area. However, the rent may only be terminated within the limits of our business area, otherwise fees for parking according to the price list are due.

Are the bus lanes passable in Vienna?

Motorcycling is already allowed on some bus lanes. More will be opened for bikes and scooters this year. All bus lanes currently accessible for motorcycles can be found here.

How do I tell the difference between 50cc and 125cc scooters?

If you are registered in your mo2drive app, you will see on the map all available scooters for which you have a driver’s license. With a handlebar permit for both categories (50ccm and 125ccm) you can see the difference in colour and lettering:

  • the 50cc scooters are bordered orange and black and marked with a 50
  • the 125ccm scooters are black and orange bordered and marked with a 125
  • the E-scooters are green and marked with an E

If you only have the driver’s license for the category 50 ccm, then you will only see the scooters with which you are allowed to drive.

What do the different scooter icons in the app mean?

The icons describe the different types of vehicles our fleet offers.

Icons with the designation “50” are gasoline-powered 50ccm vehicles that can be driven with all driving licence categories.

Icons with the designation “125” are gasoline-powered 125ccm vehicles that can be driven with driving licence classes A or B111 (with an Austrian driving licence).

Icons with the designation “E” are electric scooters which may be driven with all driving licence categories.

NEW: Icons with the designation “M” are rental scooters that are provided by selected companies at their own location (e.g. Denzel Erdberg or Andaz-Hotel Hauptbahnhof and others).

You can reserve/rent/park/ride these rental scooters as usual. ATTENTION: “Start rent” and “End rent” can ONLY be done at the location of the respective company! Don’t worry: A note will appear in the app, which will inform you when you use it, so that you don’t have to pay a possible repatriation fee.

The exact area/location where these rental scooters can be rented/ parked is signposted on the map of the app (map area with the logo of the respective company).

Ending or interrupting a journey or parking

What do I have to consider when parking the mo2drive scooter?

You can leave the mo2drive scooter wherever parking is allowed. Please always park the mo2drive scooter in accordance with the StVO, i.e. in a free public car park accessible to all at all times, so that you do not obstruct anyone. Of course, legal parking prohibitions must also be observed with a mo2drive scooter. These would be, for example, stopping bans, loading zones, disabled parking spaces and house entrances as well as, in some districts, the marked neighbouring parking spaces. We recommend that you pay particular attention to loading zones, as scooters are unfortunately towed there regularly. Furthermore, we would like to point out that parking mo2drive scooters in temporary parking prohibition zones (periods indicated by additional signs) is generally not permitted, i.e. even outside the prohibition period. Please make sure that you park the scooter on a firm and level surface so that it is safe and stable.

What do I have to consider when parking the mo2drive scooter?

Press the “Park” button in the mo2drive app and wait until the electrical system of the mo2drive scooter switches off (push button no longer lights green).

Can I park the mo2drive scooter in Vienna on an area marked as a "short-term parking zone"?

In Vienna, the short parking zone for single-track vehicles and thus also for mo2drive scooters is free of charge. You don’t have to buy a parking ticket. Please note, however, that there is no stopping in areas that may be located in short-term parking zones.

Can I park in the parking lots of people living nearby?

Parking the mo2drive scooters on adjacent parking lots is not permitted in Vienna.

What is the difference between "Parking" and "Ending the journey"?

When parking the scooter and selecting the “Park” function, the scooter remains in your rental. You can find the current parking rates in the price list. The mo2drive scooter will not be usable by other customers in time, even if you move away from the scooter. You can then continue your journey to the next destination. With the selection of the function “End trip” you end your rent. The scooter is marked on the map as “available” and is now available to other customers. Parking is also possible outside the business area, terminating the rental only inside.

How can I finally end a booking (trip)?

To finally end a trip after you have parked the scooter properly and safely in the business area, press the “End rental” button in the mo2drive app and wait until the push button no longer lights green and the end of rental in the app is confirmed.

What happens if I have turned off the engine but forgot to stop driving in the app?

The rental continues and the rental dialog remains displayed in the mo2drive app. In such a case, please contact the hotline immediately on 05 99970 or use our service chat (Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp).

Do I need my smartphone to park the scooter or to stop driving?

Your smartphone with the mo2drive app or the mo2drive web app serves as the key for every scooter. You select both the “Park” function and the “End the journey” function in the app. The smartphone is absolutely necessary for these processes.

Can I charge my smartphone while driving?

Some, but not all mo2drive scooters are equipped with USB charging sockets where you can charge your smartphone. However, please make sure that you always start your journey with a sufficiently charged battery, as you will need your smartphone to complete the journey.

What is a repatriation fee?

If you complete your booking outside the business area, repatriation fees will apply. Tip: Use the “Park” option if you want to continue later! You can find the current prices here.

Refuel your Scooter

Do I have to refuel the scooter?

Normally our scooters are ready with enough fuel. Our service team will take care of that. Fuel costs are included in the rental price (except for monthly or seasonal rentals). Nevertheless, check at the beginning of your journey whether the fuel level is sufficient for your plans. It would be good if you could refuel yourself as soon as the tank capacity drops below 25%. The invoice amount as well as 15 free minutes for your time expenditure will be credited to your customer account.

How and what do I refuel?

Drive to a petrol station near you.
Instructions about your mo2drive app:

  • The scooter must be switched off during refuelling.
  • Press the “Fill up” button in the mo2drive app. The electric system of the scooter switches off, the bench opens.
  • Fill up with Super 95 only.
  • Pay the invoice amount.
  • Photograph the invoice and send it to office@mo2drive.com.
  • Please deposit the original invoice in the helmet compartment under the seat of the scooter.
  • We will credit you an additional 15 minutes for your effort.
  • After refuelling you can continue with the button “Continue trip” or end the trip with “End trip”.

I filled up my tank and paid the bill myself. Do I get my expenses reimbursed?

With mo2drive, fuel is included in the rental price (except monthly and seasonal rentals). The fuel bill is of course on us. You will receive a credit note in the amount of the invoice amount and 15 driving minutes to your mo2drive customer account.

Can I "refuel" or recharge my electric scooter myself?

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment. Our service team takes care of charging the electric scooters.

Business Area

What is the business area?

Our business area is the area in which our mo2drive scooters can be hired and rented. You will find our free mo2drive scooters evenly distributed over this area. You are allowed to end a booking after your journey on permitted parking spaces within these limits. However, you may also drive outside the business area! Our business area in Vienna covers the entire city centre and the surrounding inner districts as well as part of the outer districts. The boundaries of the business area are displayed in the mo2drive app. You can find a current map here. If you find a free mo2drive scooter outside the business area, you can of course also rent it.

Where can I borrow a scooter?

mo2drive works with the free floating sharing system. There are therefore no fixed stands and return stations. You can find our fleet everywhere in our business area in Vienna. You can find out where the nearest free mo2drive scooter is near you by registering once with the mo2drive Mobile app or mo2drive Web app on your smartphone, or with a web browser on the mo2drive website. Here you can also reserve the vehicle of your choice. If you are standing next to your chosen mo2drive scooter, only your smartphone with the mo2drive Mobile app or mo2drive Web app will serve as the key to start the journey. Follow the instructions of the app. Check the number plate or the vehicle number to see if you are standing in front of the mo2drive scooter you have reserved.

Where can I use mo2drive scooters?

With your booked mo2drive scooter, you can drive anywhere within Austria where this is generally permitted. The parking function is also available wherever the StVO permits. Our current minute rates for driving and parking can be found in the price list. To finally finish the trip, the scooter has to be within our business area again. E-scooters may not be moved out of Vienna due to the limited range. They are intended exclusively for journeys within the city area.

Where can I end my booking?

To end the journey, make sure you are within our business area. This will be displayed in the mo2drive app. You can find the currently valid area here. Please note that additional costs will be charged for parking and terminating the rental outside our business area according to the price list.

Are mo2drive scooters allowed on motorways, highways and city highways?

Driving on motorways/expressway is basically allowed with the 125cc scooters. However, since the scooters are primarily intended for use in the city, they are not equipped with motorway vignettes (tax dics) by us – so you have to take care of that yourself when driving on toll roads.

What do the logos of different companies and different coloured areas on the map in the app mean?

The logos or other coloured areas mark areas of companies that provide dedicated scooters at a certain location (e.g. Denzel Erdberg or Andaz-Hotel Hauptbahnhof and others).

You can reserve/rent/park/ride these rental scooters as usual. ATTENTION: “Start rental” and “End rental” can ONLY be done at the location of the respective company! Scooter rental (day/week/month and season rental)

What are the rental possibilities?

  1. Scooter-Sharing use per minute
  2. Flatrate daily rent (24 hours)
  3. Flatrate weekly rent (24 x 7 hours)
  4. Monthly long-term rental (30 days)
  5. Long-term seasonal rental (8 x 30 days)
  6. rental scooter for companies (location-bound)

How is Scooter-Sharing usage charged per minute?

Driving and parking minutes are charged according to the price list according to consumption. It is also possible to buy minute packages, from which your consumption will be deducted. Tip: with minute packages you can be sure of a price advantage!

How is the daily flat rate charged?

The daily rent is charged for 24 hours. The mo2drive app automatically detects as soon as you exceed the daily flat rate with the time-dependent rental costs and then does not charge you any further travel costs until the end of the 24 hours (daily flat rate).After the 24 hours have elapsed, the variable rate (billing per minute) is applied again until the level of a further daily flat price is reached. Example daily rent: You book the mo2drive scooter no.178 on Monday at 8am and drive without stopping until Tuesday at 8am.  If you park scooter no. 178 in the meantime, you must always select the “Park” option in the app.

How is the flat rate for weekly rent calculated?

The weekly rent is automatically charged for 24 x 7 hours. As soon as the rent runs so long, that the daily rents, as well as variable rental costs reach the weekly flat price, the weekly rent is automatically charged and until the end of the 24 x 7 hours no further costs arise for you. Example weekly rent: Daily rent costs €30 and weekly rent €120. You book the mo2drive scooter no.159 on Monday at 8am. On Tuesday at 8am,  you will be charged a daily rent (€30), on Wednesday 8am. (€30 , total €60 ), Thursday 8am. (€30, total €90) and Friday 8am. (€30, total €120). You will not be charged until 8am next Monday, as long as you do not complete the journey. If you park scooter no. 159 in the meantime, you must always select the “Park” option in the app. Note: Prices are valid according to the current price list.

How is the monthly or seasonal long-term rent calculated?

After prior reservation, the monthly rent for 30 x 24 hours or the seasonal rent for 8 x 30 days will be charged. On the first day of the rental period, the cost of the monthly rent will be deducted from your deposit. With the seasonal rent 8 x the respective monthly rents are debited to you on the first of the month. The season rental, once completed, you can no longer cancel! After 8 x 30 days it is automatically finished. You can drive or park inside or outside the business area. The monthly rent includes 1,000 free kilometres, then additional kilometres according to the price list. The season rental includes 5000 free kilometers, then additional kilometers according to the price list. The mo2drive scooters for the monthly and seasonal rentals are handed over with a full tank of fuel and must also be returned with a full tank of fuel and cleaned by the renter, i.e. in the same condition in which the renter took over the scooter. If a renter does not comply with this obligation, he/she must bear the fuel costs of €2.40 per litre incurred for the respective full refuelling and the cleaning costs (according to the price list). We recommend that you activate our fully comprehensive option in your customer account so that you are protected in the event of damage. All information and tariffs can be found in the current price list. Example monthly and seasonal rent: You contact us here for a reservation. We will then get in touch with you and arrange a pick-up appointment at the mo2drive workshop, 1160 Vienna, Stillfriedplatz 1. There you pick up the scooter and bring it back after the rent has expired. If you pick up the scooter e.g. on 5th May at 2pm you have to bring it back on 5th June by 2pm. During the rental you get a key and do not have to book every ride with the app.

Rental scooters for companies

What is a rental scooter from other companies?

Rental scooters are provided by selected companies at their location (e.g. Denzel Erdberg or Andaz-Hotel Hauptbahnhof and others). You can reserve/rent/park/ride these rental scooters as usual. ATTENTION: “Start rent” and “End rent” can ONLY be done at the location of the respective company! Don’t worry: A note will appear in the app, which will inform you when you use it, so that you don’t have to pay a possible repatriation fee.

What are the terms and conditions of rental scooters for companies?

Companies that

  1. want to provide their own customers/guests/employees with a high availability of mo2drive scooters at their company/branch location and/or

What fees are charged by mo2drive?

All tariffs and the services contained therein can be found in the current price list.

When do I incur costs?

Costs arise if a mo2drive scooter is rented.

What is the cost of reserving a mo2drive scooter?

There is no charge for reserving a mo2drive scooter marked “free” on the map for a maximum of 20 minutes. Since the repeated reservation of a mo2drive scooter without rent withdraws this other customer, we reserve the right to sanction this type of non-use.

What payment methods are available?

In order to register with mo2drive and reserve and use the mo2drive scooter, customers must select a payment method (credit card Mastercard/Visa or SEPA direct debit) in the mo2drive app and enter the relevant data. Customers have the option of changing and adapting this data at any time in the mo2drive app or on the mo2drive.com website.

How and where do I disclose my payment details?

You store your payment details in your customer account in the mo2drive mobile app or on our website. If your payment details change, please change them directly in your customer account!

How is the timing?

One minute has 60 seconds. Every minute or part thereof will be charged.

What is a driving minute?

As soon as you rent a mo2drive scooter, the driving minutes begin. The electrics are on and the vehicle is ready to go.

What is a parking minute?

When you park the mo2drive scooter and press the “Park” button in the mo2drive app, the parking minutes begin to run.

Are parking minutes deducted from my driving minutes credit?

Yes. The total price of the rent is simply deducted from your existing balance.

How and when are the charges settled?

Invoicing is always on a monthly basis. This means that you will receive an invoice in the last days of the month for your use until then. The invoice will then be collected from your means of payment on the first banking day of the following month. This does not apply to invoices exceeding the amount of 100€. In this case, an interim invoice is triggered. For new customers (before the first monthly invoice) the limit for interim invoices is 30€. Also in case of an interim invoice you will receive the invoice at least 2 days before the debit.

Helmet

Do I always have to wear a helmet when driving with mo2drive?

Yes, sir. Because mo2drive scooters are mopeds whose operation is subject to the statutory helmet requirement.

I forgot my helmet or don't have my own, can I borrow one from mo2drive?

In each scooter there is a helmet in the helmet compartment under the seat. This helmet is available to you for the duration of a single rental of this scooter. Please deposit this helmet in the helmet compartment at the end of your ride.

How hygienic is a borrowed helmet?

The helmets are regularly checked and maintained. The inner linings are disinfected with a high-quality cleaning agent. The disinfectant has an antimicrobial and virus-inactivating effect of up to 10 days against numerous viruses, bacteria and fungi.

What are the helmet covers and cleaning cloths for?

In the helmet compartment you will find helmet hoods and disinfectant wipes that offer you additional hygiene when using mo2drive rental helmets. Whether you want to use these is up to you. Please dispose of them after use.

How safe are mo2drive helmets?

Our mo2drive helmets are quality helmets from renowned manufacturers with corresponding ECE test seals in the sizes L and S. To ensure that a helmet offers you optimum safety, it must fit exactly, so it must neither be too small nor too large. If the mo2drive helmets do not fit, we recommend that you use your own helmet.

What helmet sizes are available?

Our helmets are available in the sizes L and S.

How many helmets are there per mo2drive scooter?

All scooters that have a topcase are equipped with 2 helmets (sizes L and S, one in the helmet compartment under the seat, one in the topcase). All mo2drive scooters without topcase are equipped with a helmet. If you click on a mo2drive scooter in the map view of the app, you will see whether 1 or 2 helmets are available.

Can I take a passenger with me?

All mo2drive scooters are two-seater. You only need a second helmet, which you either take with you or find in the vehicle.

Maintenance

How are the scooters kept in good shape?

Traffic safety and the impeccable condition of all mo2drive scooters are very important to us. Our mo2drive scooters are properly maintained according to the manufacturer’s specifications and inspected and repaired in our workshop. Our mobile service team constantly takes care of the control and maintenance of the scooters.

What do the high quality standards at mo2drive mean for me?

The mo2drive service team takes care of the scooter fleet so that you can concentrate on the really important things, namely the uncomplicated driving pleasure. Nevertheless, it may happen occasionally that you discover a fresh defect before us. Please notify us immediately of any obvious damage, malfunctions or heavy soiling! You can do this very quickly using the mo2drive Mobile app or mo2drive Web app, by e-mail to office@mo2drive.com or by calling 05 99970. This way you not only contribute to quick repairs, but are also well advised in terms of liability. The routine check before starting the journey guarantees you full safety. Check therefore: condition of tyres and tyre pressure, fluid levels, function of brakes, throttle, horn, headlights and indicators.

Who carries out the maintenance work?

We have a service team that takes care of the maintenance and care of the mo2drive scooters.

Insurance, Damages

How are mo2drive scooters insured?

The mo2drive scooters are covered by statutory liability insurance (sum insured: €100 million lump sum, no fully comprehensive insurance). The costs for the insurance are already included in the usage price. For an additional charge, we offer you a limitation of liability, the scope of which corresponds to that of a fully comprehensive insurance with an excess per claim. You can close the limitation of liability at any time in your customer account. This limitation of liability is valid for 1 month (from the day of conclusion to the same day in the following month) and is automatically extended by one month if you do not cancel 3 days prior to expiry. All tariffs can be found in the current price list.

Is there also a fully comprehensive insurance?

Yes, for an additional charge (see current price list) we offer you a liability limitation, the scope of which corresponds to that of a fully comprehensive insurance with an excess per claim. You can close the limitation of liability at any time in your customer account. This limitation of liability is valid for 1 month (from the day of conclusion to the same day in the following month) and is automatically extended by one month if you do not cancel 3 days prior to expiry. All tariffs can be found in the current price list. The liability limitation fee will be debited from your customer account immediately or subsequently on the day of renewal.

Where are the vehicle and insurance documents kept?

The insurance certificate and a copy of the registration certificate can be found under the seat (in the helmet compartment) of the scooter.

Where is the first aid kit kept?

You will find the first aid kit under the seat (in the helmet compartment) of the mo2drive scooter.

What do I do if there is a claim during my rental?

Accidents, damage, theft, defects and destruction of a mo2drive scooter must be reported to us immediately. Please contact our service team via the hotline on 05 99970. Please make sure that all necessary measures are taken to minimise damage and preserve evidence. This also requires that you report any damage to the police. Each scooter comes with an accident card and an accident report form.

Should I also report damage to a mo2drive scooter that I haven't rented yet?

Yes, accidents, damage and defects that occur on the mo2drive scooter before the start of the rental period must also be reported via the mo2drive app.

Is there a bonus if I recruit new friends?

YES! Sharing makes mo2drive twice as much fun! Both of you will benefit from the following advantages:

  • You get: 15 free minutes as a thank you
  • Your friend gets: 15 free additional minutes

How do you get the free minutes for a friend referral?

This is how it works:

  1. You recommend mo2drive (and are already an enthusiastic mo2driver).
  2. Your friend registers and enters your customer number in the “Customer number of the recruiting customer” field.
  3. As soon as your friend has been unlocked, you will each be credited with 15 minutes of driving time!

How often can I recruit new friends?

As many times as you want! There is no limit – advantages are there to share! It is important to us that you are enthusiastic about mo2drive – and in the best case so much that you don’t want to keep it to yourself, but share it with your friends, relatives, acquaintances and colleagues.

What are the rules for using the scooters?

We think too many rules spoil the fun. That’s why we have only three ground rules:

1) mo2drive scooters may only be driven by registered participants.

2) During the journey there is an unrestricted ban on drugs and alcohol (0.0 per mille).

3) Our scooters and equipment should be handled with care.

A fourth one comes to mind: Be friendly to other road users – after all, you’re sitting at the scooter and enjoying the sun and the wind, you can tell that by looking at 😉
